Masonry Fireplaces

Often times, due to excessive use of the fireplace or lack of maintenance of the chimney your masonry fireplace and flue might need repairs.

• Firebox Repairs and Rebuilds—similarly to the exterior masonry of your chimney, your firebox masonry can begin to deteriorate over time. Often times we can repair your firebox simply by tuck-pointing it with a new mortar. Other times it might be necessary to take down and rebuild the firebox with new brick and mortar.

• Relines—due to reasons such as intense freeze thaw cycles, excessive water entry, and chimney fires, the terra-cotta flue lining in your chimney can begin to crack or deteriorate.This can create places for excessive creosote to build up in hard-to-sweep places and become a potential fire hazard.
